May 20, 2024 – 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Files Comments on Gulf of Mexico Offshore Wind Propose Sale Notice
On May 20, 2024, 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ submitted comments on the Gulf of Mexico Public Sale Notice (GOMW-2 PSN). 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’s comments echoed previous 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ comments on the first Gulf of Mexico wind lease PSN and the Central Atlantic PSN. 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ encouraged BOEM to move forward with leasing in the Gulf of Mexico, highlighting offshore wind’s potential for significant contributions to clean energy and job creation. 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ also encouraged BOEM to make maximum use of bid credits for supply chain/workforce and fisheries compensation. Finally, 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ asked for clarity on—and recommended changes to—the proposed lease conditions. BOEM will review comments on the PSN and issue a Final Sale Notice prior to holding a lease sale.
